Warehouse Team Leader

What you can expect

About the role

You will be a key part of the Warehouse and Logistics team, which is responsible for getting the right parts, to the right place at the right time, in line with production schedules.

You will lead and support your team to achieve objectives, targets and standards in all key result areas. Additionally, you will also assist in improving processes through the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and support to the team
  • Convey objectives, targets and standards
  • Co-ordinate members to make the best use of labour, materials and equipment
  • Work within and provide cover for the team
  • Rotate operatives to enhance flexibility
  • Achieve targets, standards and schedules
  • Record and examine key data within the team
  • Report on any cause of deviation, indicate and or take corrective action
  • Ensure all objectives are achieved efficiently and cost effectively
  • Develop the team into a committed and high performing team
  • Continually motivate the team
  • Appraise and develop all team members
  • Promote team spirit and flexibility within and across teams
  • Facilitate two-way communication team meetings
  • Utilise innovation of the team to improve processes, workflow productivity, procedures etc
  • Solve problems within the team’s area
  • Contribute to improvements across all other areas and processes
  • Work with adjacent team leaders to meet each other’s requirements
  • Make valued contributions to team leader meetings
  • Involvement in initiatives in 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing
  • Promote health and safety and a clean working environment
  • Report and act upon any near misses or any other health and safety incidents
  • Participation in the implementation of company initiatives and strategies
  • Managing staffing through appropriate actions in collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager and HR
  • Answering general enquiries and general office administration
  • To work in a safe manner by driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regards to the Company’s health and safety policies

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified by experience at the appropriate level
  • Leadership experience in a Warehouse environment
  • Experience of production processes
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Proficient user of SAP and WMS
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Team player with the ability to build collaborative working relationships
  • Good decision making skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflicts
  • Strong influencing skills
