The role:

The Lean 6 Sigma Practitioner will lead key cross functional Lean 6 Sigma improvement projects across the Site focussed on improving processes in both operational, (Manufacturing) and support departments whilst achieving significant improvements in Operational Excellence, Quality, and critical business related KPI’s.

They will be responsible for deploying the use of Lean, 6 Sigma & Kaizen PDCA tools and methodologies across the Site, and lead efforts to reduce variation and waste within processes ensuring the delivery of improved business results linked to KEY metrics, including the drive towards 6 Sigma Quality Performance of all new & existing products & processes across site whilst increasing the capability of Site resource in terms of Continuous Improvement.

They will have a detailed practical knowledge of Kaizen, Lean & 6 Sigma improvement methodologies, along with their successful application within both manufacturing & non – manufacturing processes. The application of improvement project control and the ability to effectively facilitate cross functional teams to deliver CI are a critical requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver Continuous Improvement projects using Kaizen, Lean & 6 Sigma methodologies & tools focussing on KEY business KPI’s including “6 Sigma Quality” across Site.
  • Identify & quantify opportunities to deliver improvements across Site related to Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost.
  • Coach & mentor KEY Stakeholders on how to reduce “process variation” & make data driven decisions to improve business results.
  • Drive a reduction in “Defects” & Process “Waste” in processes to maximise Quality & Productivity.
  • Support the deployment of the Site Improvement Strategy via the “COF” process.
  • Identify and deliver Kaizen, Lean & 6 Sigma training for targeted resource & support / guide throughout Project implementations ensuring benefits are captured.
  • Use analytical problem-solving tools to help develop robust solutions to address identified problems in both Operational and non – operational areas of the business.
  • Lead Quality & Manufacturing Efficiency improvement activities using appropriate improvement tools including Standard Work, TAKT time and Line balance analysis as required.
  • Support the implementation of new products and processes with the most appropriate methodology / tools as required, including use of appropriate Automation.
  • Lead the Site in achieving achieve Group Targets relating to Lean Journey maturity levels.
  • Lead the Site Provalido & Bullet Train cost reduction programme in line with process ensuring achievement of Site targets for the fiscal period.
  • Lead & support the training / coaching of staff to increase capability in the use of Kaizen, Lean & 6 Sigma improvement tools.
  • Challenges the status quo and shares best practice across the Site.
  • Tactically responsible for executing specific KEY projects & capturing / sharing the results.
  • Any other reasonable duties.
