Back in the early 1960s, Siddle Cook, along with his wife Mary and son Raymond, set out to improve the touring caravan experience after years of family adventures. From their workshop in Consett, County Durham, they launched their first models — the Whirlwind and Tornado — under a new name created from Siddle’s own: Elddis (his name spelled backwards!). The Whirlwind, in particular, struck a chord with holidaymakers, helping to establish Elddis as a trusted household name across the UK.
