UK-Built Elddis Campervans recognised as the best of the best, as Autoquest CV wins Caravan and Motorhome Club award
After such astounding success at the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s ‘Caravan Design Awards’ in October, with our brands taking the title in no less than five of the 12 categories, plus a total of 11 Highly Commended places in 9 categories, Erwin Hymer Group’s recognition continues, with further celebrations at the Club’s 2020 ‘Motorhome and Campervan Design Awards’.

The awards, now in their 21st year, have been rebranded to recognise Campervans, so it’s quite fitting that the award for best ‘Van Conversion under £50,000’ was awarded to Elddis for the new Autoquest CV20, which is also available in Compass Avantgarde CV20 guise - both priced at £42,099 on-the-road, well below the category’s limit – despite the campervan’s copious specification and equipment levels.

Here's what the team of judges had to say about the winning Elddis Autoquest CV20:
“A great layout. Sociable and user friendly”
“Compact and well used space”
“Open, comfortable layout that doesn’t try to fit too much into a modest size van ... and is more pleasant as a result”
Runner-up in the same under £50,000 category was the Compass Avantgarde CV60 – a new layout for this year in the newly-introduced Campervan range – also available as the Elddis Autoquest CV60.

These individually-branded ranges, built exclusively for each Retailer, boast a wealth of added value style and specification – a winning formula, with their own place in the ‘Motorhome and Campervan Design Awards’.
In a night where Elddis Campervans truly led the way, our Retailer Specials won 1st, 2nd and joint 3rd places, an accolade which has delighted us and of course our retail partners, with whom we have worked with for many years to create the best special editions in the market.

The results of the twenty-first Caravan and Motorhome Club Motorhome Design Awards were announced at the annual Caravan Camping and Motorhome Show at NEC Birmingham on Friday 21 February 2020. The awards were presented by Club Chairman, Grenville Chamberlain, and Club Director General, Nick Lomas.
The aim of the Competition is to provide the best quality, and quantity, of information to members and buyers.
Vehicles were assessed by an independent panel of judges who assessed criteria including electrics and safety, comfort, kitchen/washrooms, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems, technical aspects and stowage. Although the judges did not drive the vehicles, the scoring of the vehicles still evaluated driving elements such as seating positions, handbrake positions, visibility, safety whilst travelling in habitation area, front seat comfort and driver ergonomics.
There were 38 entries in the Dealer Special categories. The definition of a dealer special is that the motorhome must be badged and named differently to the manufacturer’s model. These models are only available to purchase new through the dealer, or network of dealers, and are not available from the manufacturer direct.
Grenville Chamberlain OBE, Chairman of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, who announced the results commented, “Our thanks go to the industry for their continued support of this event.
"The data gathered from this competition provides an invaluable source of information for consumers looking to buy a motorhome or campervan. 132 vehicles were thoroughly evaluated during the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show by our panel of independent judges.
"Huge congratulations to all the worthy winners.”
