Position: Kaizen Workshop Technician   -   ABEL-BW6FNJ

Number of Positions:

Main Purpose of The Job: To design, develop and manufacture all types of equipment relevant to the implementation of lean manufacturing across all areas of the business, for example workstations, dollies and trollies, tool management, material delivery devices etc. To repair and maintain all lean equipment, devices and plant ensuring they are safe and efficient in operation.

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop and construct all types of equipment in line with Lean manufacturing
  • Ensure that all equipment complies with the required quality and H&S standards
  • Plan and manage equipment implementation and commissioning
  • Organise raw materials and piece parts used in the manufacturing process
  • Maintain documentary records relevant to all aspects of the job, both electronic and manual
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout
  • Train all operators in the use of new and existing lean manufacturing equipment
  • Carry out TPM activities as required
  • Ensure all activities are carried out with the Right First Time principle
  • Make technical decisions relating to lean manufacturing equipment and their impact on operations, seeking guidance where necessary
  • Support Lean manufacturing implementation
  • Involvement in 5S & Continuous Improvement initiatives Health

  • Manage the production of all lean manufacturing equipment
  • Integrate new equipment and devices into production working closely with other teams
  • Analyse problems and develop new lean solutions
  • Source raw materials, parts, equipment and devices

Qualifications: 

  • Apprenticeship desirable (welding and fabrication desirable) ON or equivalent
  • Business improvement qualification desirable
  • Good G.C.S.E’s (or Level 2) in Maths and English
  • Level 1 equivalent in English & Maths

Normal Working Hours:

Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs: 08:00 to 17:00

Friday: 08:00 to 13:00 

The post holder would be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
