Kaizen Workshop Technician


Main Purpose of the job

To design, develop and manufacture all types of equipment relevant to the implementation of lean manufacturing across all areas of the business, for example workstations, dollies and trollies, tool management, material delivery

devices etc. To repair and maintain all lean equipment, devices and plant ensuring

they are safe and efficient in operation.


Design, develop and construct all types of equipment in line with Lean manufacturing

Ensure that all equipment complies with the required quality and H&S standards

Plan and manage equipment implementation and commissioning

Orgainse raw materials and piece parts used in the manufacturing process

Maintain documentary records relevant to all aspects of the job, both electronic and manual

Drive continuous improvement throughout

Train all operators in the use of new and existing lean manufacturing equipment

Carry out TPM activities as required

Ensure all activities are carried out with the Right First Time principle

Make technical decisions relating to lean manufacturing equipment and their impact on operations, seeking guidance

where necessary

Support Lean manufacturing implementation

Involvement in 5S & Continuous Improvement initiatives

Health and Safety

Manage the production of all lean manufacturing equipment

Integrate new equipment and devices into production working closely with other teams

Analyse problems and develop new lean solutions

Source raw materials, parts, equipment and devices


Create and implement standard operating procedures

Support managers and team leaders in their activities

Adhere to H&S Policy

Adhere to Company Handbook

Adhere to Quality Policy

Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures

Adhere to IT Policy

Involvement in training requests


Apprenticeship desirable

ONC or equivalent

Business improvement qualification desirable

Good G.C.S.E’s (or Level 2) in Maths and English

Level 1 equivalent in English & Maths

Knowledge and Experience:


·Proven machining and manufacturing experience

·Logical and systematic approach to work

·Ability to prioritise own work load

·The ability to solve problems and offer creative solutions

·Team working

·IT literacy and the ability to handle electronic data

·Open to and accept change

·Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team

·Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

·Analytical skills

·A positive attitude to continued learning

·Full UK Driving Licence


·Experience related to the leisure industry

·Knowledge of leisure vehicle design, construction, assembly processes and techniques

Normal Hours of work: 

Mon - Thurs 08:00 - 17:00

Fri 08:00 - 13:00

The post holder would be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.

Candidates must be able to work rotating shift patterns which are subject to change.
