Position:

Warehouse and Logistics Manager

 

Main Purpose of the job

To lead the safe efficient storage and distribution of all internal goods, ensuring that the right products are delivered to

the right location on time, to the correct Quality, in the correct quantity and ergonomically correct. This includes

transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of all internal parts to ensure that the flow of

internal parts to ensure that the orders are fulfilled 100% on time.

Provide clear business direction for logistics and warehousing

Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehousing and transportation

Manage, control and improve all logistics processes

Organize the warehouse, plan delivery routes and process shipments

Use proven problem-solving tools and techniques to eradicate root causes and implement permanent solutions

Manage the logistics budget to meet financial objectives

Lead and facilitate improvement project teams to improve logistic processes

Develop and facilitate training in logistics tools and techniques throughout the business

Implement 5S and co-ordinate all other Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques within the Logistics team

Develop, plan and train the Logistics team

Create, collect, manage and distribute Key Performance Indicators

Be available as the Logistics “Go To” manager to assist and help others

Work with suppliers to achieve suitable returnable packaging solutions

Oversee all stock taking activities on site, working with the whole business

Responsibilities:

Involvement in 5S & Continuous Improvement initiatives

Involvement in training requests

Manage stock levels, delivery times and transportation

Coordinate and control the delivery order cycle

Manage the recycling of all waste stream associated with delivered parts.

Allocate and manage resources according to change business needs.

Analyse problems and produce new solutions.

Communication processes.

Create and implement standard operation procedures.

Integrate new parts and products into production working closely with production teams.

Ensuring compliance and dissemination of all relevant legislation, regulations and procedures.

Source and implement new logistical equipment and machines.

Ensure the latest competencies re up to date (Skills, knowledge and qualifications)

Support managers and team leaders in there activities.

Develop all team members.

Manage a multi shift pattern and work

Qualifications:           

Degree, HND or foundation degree

Engineering apprenticeship desirable

Recognised logistics management accreditation

Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC),

Institute of Leadership and Management;

Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).

Business improvement qualification desirable

Language (German)

Good G.C.S.E’s (or Level 2) in Maths and English

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential

·Proven working experience as a logistics manager

·Record of successful distribution and logistics management

·Logical and systematic approach to work

·Proven business process re-engineering

·Project management

·Experience of handling multi-projects

·The ability to solve problems and offer creative solutions

·IT literacy and the ability to handle electronic data

·Proficient in standard logistics software

·The ability to manage change

·Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people

·Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

·Analytical skills

·A positive attitude to continued learning

·Commercial awareness

·Full UK Driving Licence

Non-Essential

·Experience related to the leisure industry

German language

Knowledge of leisure vehicle design, construction, assembly processes and techniques

Normal Hours of work: 

Monday to Thursday - 8.00am - 17.00pm

Friday - 8.00am - 13.00pm

The post holder would be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role. Candidates must be prepared to be flexible and work shift patterns if required dependent upon the business needs.
