Warehouse Team Leader

 

Position:

Warehouse Team Leader

 

Main Purpose of the job

To lead and support the warehouse and onsite logistics team to achieve objectives, targets and standards in all key

result areas.

Responsibilities:

a) Provide direction and support the team.

i Convey objectives, targets & standards.

ii Co-ordinate members to make the best use of labour, materials, & equipment.

iii Work within and provide cover for the team.

b) Achieve targets, standards & schedules.

i Record and examine key data with the team.

ii Report on any cause of deviation indicate and or take corrective action.

iii Ensure all objectives etc are achieved efficiently and cost effectively.

c) Develop the team into a committed and high performing team.

i Continually motivate the team.

ii Appraise and develop all team members (multi skills).

iii Promote team spirit and flexibility within and across teams.

d) Facilitate two way communication team meetings (at least monthly).

i Utilise innovation of the team to improve processes, workflow productivity,

procedures, etc.

ii Solve problems within the team’s area.

e) Contribute to improvements across all other areas and processes.

i Work with adjacent team leaders to meet each others requirements

ii Make valued contributions to team leaders meetings

f) Promote health and safety and a clean working environment.

i Maintain health, safety and operational standards

ii Report and act upon any near misses or any other health and safety incidents.

g) Answering general enquires.

h) General office administration.

i) Any other reasonable duties as directed.

Product Services Management meeting (monthly)

Team Leader Technical Meetings (Weekly

Qualifications:           

NVQ BIT Level III or equivalent

ILM or equivalent in Supervisory Management (desirable)

Knowledge and Experience:

Management Control

Operations planning

Production Control

Systems Development

Continuous improvement tools and techniques

Health & Safety legislation

Budget management

Leadership/supervisory management

Development of Teams

Vehicle Driving Licence

Attributes:

Ability to prioritise own work load

Normal Hours of work: 

Roles are on a rotating shift pattern. Candidates must be prepared to work shift patterns that are subject to change. The post holder would be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
