Main Purpose of the job

To develop sales of touring caravans and motor homes within their assigned territories through the effective management and development of our retail dealers.

The Candidate will be UK-Based and willing and able to travel throughout the UK to fulfil the requirements of the role. As part of the Erwin Hymer Group, the Candidate will be expected to travel Overseas, attending scheduled meetings and presentations as applicable.


Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer contact towards achieving agreed business aims.

Plan and manage personal business portfolio/territory according to the agreed sales strategy.

Build long-term relationships by understanding our customers business needs, identifying their expectations and negotiating mutual goals.

Develop our dealer network within their area of responsibility through the appointment of quality retailers to the Erwin Hymer Group UK franchises within the guidelines set by the company.

To train and develop our retail dealers and their personnel to ensure the highest possible standard of product knowledge for Explorer Group products through various methods including but not limited to, one to one training, organised training workshops and provided training/information material.

To collate and submit sales data for their territory analyse and take appropriate actions to ensure sales objectives are achieved.

Feeding-back, through the retailer visit reporting system and other appropriate means, the voice of the retailers into the business ensuring that all relevant Erwin Hymer Group UK managers receive the information and where appropriate, make recommendations for or take corrective actions.

Liaising with internal department to review customer accounts (sales; delivery; PDI; aftersales; warranty; finance) and drive appropriate improvements.

Integrate personal sales efforts with organised marketing activities, e.g. product launches, promotions, exhibitions, retailer shows

Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods.

Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.

Negotiation of customer service levels and trading terms

All other reasonable duties as requested.

To play a full and active role in the management team of the Erwin Hymer Group UK, working with other managers as appropriate to ensure that the agreed business aims are met.


Degree in relevant technical discipline preferred. (Business, Sales or Marketing)

Good G.C.S.Eā€™s or equivalent in English and Maths

Account Management experience essential

Knowledge and Experience:

Sound working knowledge of:

Sales / Account Management

Relationship management

New Business prospecting ā€“ Cold Calling

Negotiation skills

Computer Literate.

Full UK driving licence

Passport required



Financially astute

Planning, organising skills

Excellent communications skills

Personal drive ā€“ Self-motivated



Normal Hours of work: 

35 hours per week, however, the post holder would be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role. You must be prepared to travel, including overnight stays where necessary.
